No matter how many times you read the blurb, 'easy cash for writing online', it seems there is no such thing as easy dollars for writing.
Yes, it is possible to earn money with your writing. Is it easy? Do you have a blockbuster to match Stephen King or Bryce Courtenay? If the answer to that question is no, then the answer to the previous question is also, no. There is no easy money to be made from writing. But as pessimistic as this may sound, take heart. There is money to be made writing on-line but you will need the following, look at these points as your job criteria:
- Dedication
- Commitment
- Hours to spare -- days, weeks, months is probably more realistic
- Motivation
- Inspiration
Dedication is required in the first instance to scour the Internet and find the jobs. You will need commitment to writing at every waking moment that is not tied up with daily tasks such as working for real money and you will need many hours to spare. To be realistic, it takes months possibly years for anyone to earn good money by writing online. Lack of motivation and inspiration are arguably the biggest set backs for writers.
Tighten up Your Resume and Portfolio

There are a number of sites that list dozens of new writing jobs on a daily basis. These jobs are mostly for freelance writers and can be carried out online. The level of payment for writing seems to depend on the site. Freelancer.com has a constant flow of low paying jobs such as writing 500-1000 word articles for USD $1 but by checking the details on each new listing this can turn up some reasonable paying gigs.
Elance.com is another job site that has plenty of writing jobs for freelancers. The pay is a little higher here but the competition is better too and you’ll need a tight resume and portfolio if you want your proposal to shine from all the rest. Both of these sites are free for basic membership.
Constant Content is a site where you can showcase your articles. The site has client's willing to review and pay for good content, either from your portfolio or by writing in response to requests. Follow this link Constant Content to sign up, start writing and earning.

Article Writing for Blog Posts
Money making for writers on blog posts such as HubPages, Suite101, StumbleOn and Squiddoo seems to be a distant dream for most writers. While there are people who make money from these sites it seems that you need to have lots of friends or followers to make this pay. Mark Knowles from HubPages says it is possible and shares his thoughts with informative articles.
Becoming an affiliate member of Google AdSense, Amazon, eBay (if you have your own web-site) and Kontera is easy enough to set up but the rewards few and far between. For all of these sites you will be seriously waiting and hoping for someone to click on the ads next to your article for those few cents to come trickling in or hoping that someone will buy a product for you to get your 4% commission.

Beware of scams
Any site that wants you to pay for a CD or download information from a link that promises to make you hundreds of dollars per day is almost always going to be a scam. No-one should be paying money to get a job, that’s right, no-one, not even writers. The lure of the get rich quick scheme is only a click away.
There is a big difference though between buying a job and paying money for a business opportunity or training for a job but with so many articles available on line regarding how to make money online it seems pointless paying for information that is available for free.
From a personal perspective, I enjoy writing and am happy to be getting my words published but I would like to pursue a career in the field and earn something more than a few cents per word. Contributing to HubPages is a great place to start and there is much to learn from within the multitude of articles on writing and making money.

agvulpes how true! It is hard work but there are rewards at the end of the rainbow, I've got the paying gig, writing articles using SEO but I love Hubpages for the freedom to write what pleases me.
great, realistic advise. I have just finished reading a thread about a newbie claiming to make $1000 in a month - sounded a bit dodgy. I don't understand all this backlinking business - it sounds all very time consuming

I'd rather just focus my spare time on writing - mine are a special niche and I think people will find them if they look. I like the hubpages community and I love the freedom of writing about whatever I like - there's plenty more to write and not enough time to do it all.

Yes, Karanda, it's really hard work and it takes time to earn money online. I set up my personal blog two years ago,and it's only now that it's earning money to pay for the hosting. As my blog is local, it receives more hits than my articles on content sites, which are geared towards a global audience and therefore, entails fierce competition for keywords. More power to your online endeavor, Karanda!
Thanks for your comments Nera and I am so glad you are finding success with the local audience. The global competition is fierce and with millions of sites already out there it's hard to imagine any of us will hit the jackpot. Perseverance seems to be the key.
correctly said , there is big money to earn from internet, but it takes hardwork and patience. Before you get to know the right way of earning either your are frustrated or may have lost few Dollors.

Dawn, too true. Do what you love and the money will follow -- this has been my believe but I've only recently put it to the test. It works but it takes time and commitment.

That's it Kyriana, patience and a love of writing. From what I've read on other Hubs it takes months to get a payout from Adsense but the more active you are the more chances you have of being noticed. Keep at it and who knows?

Nice hub. it does take time to make money online give it a year or so of solid writing and you'll see results.
Most definitely QualityContent, at least a year but that must be solid writing, if not daily then weekly adding content and updating old content. Google favours old and new postings so the more activity on a site the more chance your writing has of being seen.

Hello Karanda I loved reading your information your article is written in an easy to understand & digest format.
You have added an input from Mark Knowles saying making a good income from hubpages is possible but hoping that folk click onto ads & purchase Amazon products from the links provided.
I love writing & have great pleasure that others may enjoy my work & hopefully benefit from the information provided so I was looking for a site to showcase my abilities & hopefully generate an income.
Through my search I came across the home page of hubspage website whereas they are stating users over 2-3 years are making up to $2000 per month.
This inspired me to sign up & start to write my philosophies.
I do sincerely hope that over the next year or so I would also become one of those folk on the front page of hubpages generating that kind of income.
In the meantime, I am going to follow some of your suggested links for other ways to make it on the internet.
Thank you once again you write so well & when ever I read a spectacular piece of work like yours it always inspires me to do better & this is one of the joys of using hubpages.

HubPages is a great place to start as a showcase for what you have written and while the money may not come rushing in, it will, in time start to build up. But there has to be a constant input from a hubber to be successful here.
The other freelance writing opportunities I've mentioned give instant reward, but mostly it will be a one-off payment. Which is why HubPages in conjunction with Adsense is better in the long term. Write once, reap the rewards for many years to come.
